new Laser Board Update wich one ?

HI actually i am running my Eleksmaker with an 7W laser 450nm and the cheap 3 Axis CNC Board from China.
The Power of the Laser is not so good so i am thinking to switch to a better Board wich one would you recomend ?

What do you mean by "not so good"? What is your application and typical medium?

These units are by definition "low power". Like any other tool they assist you in getting a task done. Even thou they can burn they are not suited for cutting metal but work great for etching wood.

The 7W module probably has a laser that is made from multiple diodes. A lens (or lenses) is then used to focus the beam. That focus point is usually not round but rectangular in shape. As the distance from the focal point grows (both ways) the beam becomes larger. A few mm can make a difference. If your application is etching this usually is of little concern but for cutting it is.

You can get lenses with specific focal distance. For cutting I prefer 150mm as the bean has less change over the depth of cut. I also adjust the bean such that the rectangular pattern is at a 45 degree angle. Helps for right angle cuts. You may also want to look into a Z adjust mechanism.

For cutting you should expect to do multiple passes. I prefer more passes at higher speeds as it keeps the flames down. I also use a small air compressor to blow the char from the trough.
Our site admin, Ralph, has a great tutorial on calibrating the machine with BCL that includes the focus, speed, power, gain of wood, and phase of the moon.

If the laser is powered separately (it should be) then the controller does not have any influence on the max power output.
